We Need Each Other | By Rodney Holmstrom, CR Global Field Director

“The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.” Proverbs‬ ‭12‬:‭26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I saw a study where people were asked how many close friends they had in their life? The number of respondents who responded that they had ‘five close friends’ is down, from 68% in 1990, to 40% in 2021.

The group answering that they have ‘no close friends’ has increased from 3% to 15%. Yikes. We need each other!

Lonely people, who lack healthy community rooted in Christ, are likely targets for getting off course through deceit and falling back into unhealthy patterns of destruction. Staying connected is essential to our recovery process.

Aren’t you grateful to have people in your life you can call brothers and sisters? Consider reaching out to a couple of them this week to let them know how much you appreciate their being in your life.
