Have you ever felt like God was nowhere to be found?  Have you ever just feel like you’re “hanging on for dear life” – hoping that some ray of hope shows up soon from the Father?     In the Old Testament book of Job, Job himself expressed those feelings.   A friend shared these verses with me this week.  He said they were an anchor for him in a 3-year struggle with depression.     Job 23:1-3 & 8-10  (NLT) says: Then Job spoke again: “My complaint today is still a bitter one,     and I try hard not to groan aloud. If only I knew where to find God,     I would go to his court… I go east, but he is not there.     I go west, but I cannot find him.   Matthew 7:15-20- "Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves. You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.   Jesus talks about fruit and the necessity of pruning even more in John 15: " I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener.
